Our client, a leading building services company in Edinburgh, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to the company's commitment to sustainability and high-quality service delivery.
Position OverviewAs an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the company's success by accurately estimating project costs, ensuring profitability, and contributing to the company's sustainability goals. You will work closely with the construction team, subcontractors, and suppliers to prepare detailed estimates and quotations for various building projects.
ResponsibilitiesAttend site meetings to gather information and assess project requirements
Analyse tender documentation, including drawings and technical documents, to prepare accurate estimates
Consult with subcontractors and suppliers to discuss estimates and resolve any issues
Communicate with potential customers, colleagues, and suppliers to arrange site visits and measures
Travel to job sites to gather information on materials, labour requirements, and other factors
Analyse quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure pricing requirements are fulfilled
Submit tenders and quotations, and clearly hand over successful projects to the construction team
Obtain quotes from third parties and provide Programmes of Work
Assist Procurement with queries and produce information for all PQQs
RequirementsExperience in managing projects in a similar industry
Good working knowledge of surveying, estimating, contract conditions, regulations, program and risk management, and cost control
A full UK Driving License
Previous experience in surveying and estimating
Ability to prioritise work to ensure tasks are completed within time constraints
IT proficient
